Decimal hours = hours + minutes ÷ 60
Example: 6 hours 20 minutes → 6 + 20 ÷ 60 = 6.33 hours.

Is 7.30 the same as 7:30?
No – and it is the most common timesheet mistake. 7:30 is seven and a half hours, which is 7.5 in decimal. 7.30 decimal hours is only 7 hours 18 minutes.
How do I calculate pay with decimal hours?
Multiply decimal hours by the hourly rate. 7:45 at £15 an hour is 7.75 × 15 = £116.25. Using 7.45 by mistake would give £111.75.
